Products in TerraTrue provide a way to group launches together and to manage access of these launches through the association with Access Groups and Review Teams. Access Groups allow for products to be associated with a set of Users that may not be associated with a Review Team. Learn more about configuring and using Access Groups here and Review Teams here. As you configure additional products, you can choose which Access Groups and built in Review Teams should have access to these products and hence the launches associated with them.
When your organization is initially provisioned on TerraTrue, it is pre-configured with a single product called 'Default' to which all your users have access.
When you create a new launch, there is a field to select which product it belongs to. You can always change that selection but keep in mind that a launch cannot belong to more than one product.
If you right access controls to a Launch, you may also edit the product after the launch is created in a Launch Summary. Note: the only role that doesn’t have access to change the product in a Launch is the Observer.
How do I configure a product to use in a Launch?
In Org Settings > Product, you may go ahead and create a new product by clicking on “Create New”.
Enter a product name that associates with a division in your organization.
Add as many Access Groups or automatically built in Review Teams (builtin) for this product by clicking “Add Group” in the Access Groups section to determine which set of users in an Access Group or Review Team may have access to the launches tied to this product. Note: the default is set to all review teams and users associated with those review teams.
How do I edit a product?
Simply click on a row of the product to get to the edit screen of a product. Once you go into the product, you may edit the name and the Access Groups.
How do I delete a product?
You may delete a Product by selecting the more menu on the table row. Note: If you delete a product that is in use in a Launch, the Launches with the deleted product will automatically be changed to ‘Default’ Product.
Important considerations:
- TerraTrue provides a built-in product called 'Default'. This product cannot be modified or removed.
- By default, any user who is a member of a review team automatically gets access to all products in order to be able to conduct their review.
- The user who created a launch can access that launch even if it is not in a product for which they have access. This is intended to help ensure that the launch creator is able to properly interact with the review team and act on their recommendations.
